Privacy Policy
Summary
GuestPermits helps City of Atlanta residents create guest parking permits on the City's permit portal. Your details, your saved vehicles, and your permit history are stored on your phone and nowhere else. The app has no account system and no server that stores your data. The only information that leaves your phone is what you send to the City's portal to create a permit, the vehicle photo you choose to have read automatically, and a count of permits created (described below).
What the app stores on your phone
- Your details: name, address, city, zip code, phone number, email address, and default permit zone. You enter these once and confirm them each time. They are stored in a database on your device.
- Vehicles: the name you give each vehicle, its license plate number and state, make, model, color, and the photo you took or chose. Stored on your device.
- Permit history: zone, cycle, dates, and whether each attempt succeeded, along with the confirmation the portal displayed. Stored on your device.
- Portal PIN (optional): if you choose to save your 4-digit portal PIN so the app can enter it for you, it is stored in your phone's secure keystore (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore), separate from the database. The one-time verification code the portal emails or texts you is never stored.
- Portal session: the app opens the City's portal in a built-in browser view. That view keeps the same kind of login cookie a normal browser would, so you are not asked to verify your email on every use.
Deleting the app deletes all of this. There is no copy elsewhere.
What leaves your phone
- The City's permit portal (atlparkingpermits.rmcpay.com, operated by Passport Inc. on behalf of the City of Atlanta). When you create a permit, the app fills in the portal's form with your details and the vehicle's details and submits it, the same as if you typed it yourself. The portal's own privacy policy governs what it does with that information: passportinc.com/privacy-policy.
- Vehicle photo reading. When you take or choose a vehicle photo and ask the app to read it, the photo is sent to an image-recognition service to identify the plate, make, model, and color. The service used is Anthropic's Claude API. The photo is used only to produce that reading and is subject to Anthropic's policies: anthropic.com/legal/privacy. The request goes through a DigitalForge Pro LLC relay so that the app never holds a service key. The relay adds only a random per-install identifier, used to limit how many photos one phone can send per day, and keeps only that daily count. It does not keep the photo or the reading. You can skip photo reading entirely and type the details instead.
- Permit count. When the portal confirms a permit, the app tells the DigitalForge Pro LLC relay that one permit was created. The message carries the same random per-install identifier used for photo reading and nothing else: no plate, no name, no address, no dates, no account details. The relay keeps only running totals (overall, per day, and per install identifier) so we know how much the app is used. The identifier is random, is not linked to you, and is never combined with other data.
Nothing else is sent anywhere. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.
What the app does not do
- It does not sell, share, or rent your information.
- It does not collect location data.
- It does not read your contacts, messages, or other apps.
- It does not access your photo library except for the single photo you pick.
- It does not store your portal verification codes.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera: to photograph a guest's license plate. Optional.
- Photos: to choose an existing picture instead. Optional. Only the picture you select is accessed.
Your choices
- Edit or delete your details and vehicles at any time inside the app.
- Remove the saved PIN by clearing it under Your Details.
- Delete the app to erase everything it stored.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores is on your phone, so deleting it is in your hands and takes effect immediately:
- To delete a vehicle or a permit record, open it in the app and choose delete. Press and hold a vehicle in the list to delete it.
- To delete your details, edit them under Your Details, or delete the app.
- To delete everything at once, delete the app from your phone. The database, the saved photos, the PIN in the secure keystore, and the portal login cookie are all removed with it. There is no copy on any server, so there is nothing to request from us.
- Permits you already created live in your account on the City's portal, which the app does not control. Manage those at atlparkingpermits.rmcpay.com.

Children
The app is intended for adults who hold a City of Atlanta residential parking permit. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the app's store listing links to the current version.
